SAML Authentication Needed (Wanted)

The XI server I use has AD integration, which is nice and the others that use the XI server really like not having to remember yet another password. There's been a push to have SAML integration so we can add Nagios XI to a SSO portal window, which all the other applications that are used by me and others are part of.
I've seen this request be asked for years, but the latest update I can see on these forums for SAML support is at least 2 years ago.
Was this update ever made by the Nagios team? Is this possible? It seems like it's been a need for a good amount of people for a while now (I'm seeing requests for the functionality on Nagios core back to 2011 and XI from around 2018/19).
I'd prefer to not use some freeware add-on which may be hard to maintain over time.

Unfortunately we still dont have native SAML integration. It is on our radar and I added a note on the feature request to add it that it was requested for. To see updates for what updates have been done to our product feel free to check out our
changelog. We do have SSO on our roadmap but I can't give an exact time frame of when this should be done. Here is a link to our
roadmap if you wanted to take a look.

Thank you for the update. I think the Nagios community, or at least part of it, will be happy and thankful that day!

Hello @rarosswa,
We are currently working on integrating SSO into Nagios XI using OAuth2 with AAD (Azure Active Directory) and will likely get this released by the end of the year. Would you like me to add SAML SSO additionally to the backlog?

Hi Paul,
We plan to deliver SSO in Nagios XI 2024R2, which will be our next XI release, and we hope to have that out soon-ish. We're dev complete on the release and in full QA.

The initial implementation will only support SSO through Azure AD, but we are open to requests for future expansions to this feature.
