Hello,

Does anybody know to monitor Juniper Mist Edge Tunnel interfaces in Nagios XI? I have no problem with monitoring Cisco devices from Nagios.

Thanks!

Hi @truthseeker,

I'm not seeing any existing community plugins on Nagios Exchange, so your best bet may be to develop a plugin for this in house, if the existing wizards aren't able to properly set up monitoring for a Mist Edge tunnel.

Here is a link to our Plugin Development Guidelines, if that's the route you go with for this.

Hi @truthseeker,

In theory Juniper MIst uses SNMP https://www.mist.com/documentation/snmp-support/.

From that page it looks like you can enable SNMP in the web interface, the 'Notify' tab I'd think would get you to set up SNMP Traps.

For active monitoring, you would want to identify a MIB that covers the services. This Juniper forum post https://community.juniper.net/discussio ... nel-in-srx suggests jnxVpnMIB, here's a link to that in the Juniper MIB explorer https://apps.juniper.net/mib-explorer/n ... 6.3.26.0.1

Thanks for your suggestions! It's not as straightforward as I initially thought it would be, but I will look into SNMP and MIB.

Hi @truthseeker,

Here are some resources:

How SNMP Works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2IXP0TkwNJU

How to Upload and Manage MIBs in XI: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cY4tNOPtp0A

Once you have the MIB uploaded, you can use the SNMP Walk Wizard: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGUIbM09TKc

Let me know what questions you have after you watch those.
