Add arbitrary URL to Favorites

Is there a way to add an arbitrary XI URL to Favorites? The conventional way to create a Fav is to click the star in upper right corner. But there are a lot of "views" that open in XI that do not have a star.
But If I want to quickly look at a single hostgroup, grid view, I can craft the url thusly: https://<fqdn>/nagiosxi/includes/components/nagioscore/ui/status.php?hostgroup=storage&style=grid. I get the grid of only my storage nodes -- much faster loading, and no scrolling down through thousands of nodes when getting a grid of everything via the menu.
I could bookmark that in my browser, but I'd prefer to keep my XI Favs in XI.
Thanks.

I'm not sure you could do this currently, but that is a good idea. Maybe something similar to the views management page but a favorites management page where you can add and edit links.

Hello @gregbeyer,
Your link (https://<fqdn>/nagiosxi/includes/components/nagioscore/ui/status.php?hostgroup=storage&style=grid) points to the Nagios Core server, which is not a part of Nagios XI and thus cannot be favorited.
You can add a hostgroup's grid view dashlet (as seen from Home->Details->Hostgroup Grid) to a dashboard with the icon in the top left of said hostgroup's grid view dashlet. You can then add that dashboard to your favorites. This is what I would recommend.

Home - Details - Hostgroup grid shows me grids for all HGs. If I click the link above a HG, I'm taken to a service status page of the HG. A HG grid is not shown. How do I get a HG grid of only one HG? If you're referring to using the BBMap dashlet in a dashboard, that's not what I want to do. I want to use Fav's not a dashboard.

On the top left of a hostgroup on the hostgroup grid page, there is an icon that lets you add it to a dashboard. You can then favorite that dashboard and it will be a part of your favorites.

That's inside the Core interface. You can't add Nagios Core interface elements to the Nagios XI interface. They are completely separate.
I was referring to the XI page Home->Details->Hostgroup Grid in XI.

So Home-Detail-Hostgroup Grid produces a grid of all HG's. I see no icon above any HG's in the grid. I have already shared a shot of my HG Grid with my first HG.(accessed from XI Home-Detail-Hostgroup Grid --
https://nagios.pace.gatech.edu/nagiosxi ... style=grid)
Note that the URL in Detail IS xicore. No icon there as you can see. Perhaps you can share a screenshot of what you are seeing? Thanks.

gregbeyer,
I've attached a screenshot of what I believe @bbahn is referring to. Note this is in the Neptune theme:
Screenshot 2024-10-22 at 4.37.36 PM.png
Note the star icon in the upper right. This is also present on the Modern and Classic themes. The ability to add favorites is exclusively part of Nagios XI. The screenshot you shared distinctly looks like base Nagios Core, which doesn't support favorites. When I access the same URL you shared on my machine I get routed to Nagios XI. I'll have to dig into why this may be happening. What version of XI are you running?
Best Regards,
Cory Norell

I am running XI v 2024R1.3
I use Modern theme. I do not have a view of a HG Grid you show. So I changed my theme to Neptune, tried both Light and Dark. I cleared browser cache, got the below. Then opened Nagios in a new private window, still got the below:
Neptune Light - Hostgroup Grid
hostgroup-grid_neptune-light.png
Neptune Dark - Hostgroup Grid

So it seems my Modern, Nep-Light, Nep-Dark themes are all loading a
Core HG grid. Why? No wonder we've been we've got a communications disconnect. I'm going to try all the other themes. I predict the same.
I tried all themes. In Details, all show Service Status and Host Status XI interface. OTOH, All six Hostgroup and Servicegroup items render Core views.
