Hi,

Do we need an account with admin privilages or a read-only account would be fine for monitoring Databases? (while configuring the database, the wizard is asking for the user id and password of the DB)

This would depend what kind of DB monitoring you want to do. Usually a read-only account is fine, but it will need access to the databases you want to check (even system databases)
