We currently do not have a script to archive data currently. I'll go ahead and make a feature request to add this. I'll have to do more digging but off of a brief search the only logs that might help offload some size without losing data for viewing would be the backend.log files in /usr/local/nagiosna/var.

Thanks sgardil

this is dually noted and appreciated..

yes in terms of storage capacity

it would be good to be able to archive data for cool storage

and can be retrieve later, giving a longer retention of data than the capacity of the Live Storage..

Regards

Is this something you also would like? If so I will note it on the feature request for more users looking forward to this.

I’m also very interested in the ability to archive Netflow data in NNA. It would be really helpful to have a way to offload older data to “cool storage” while still keeping it accessible for historical analysis. Even a basic archive feature with scheduled cleanup or export options would make a big difference in managing storage capacity.

Good to know. I can't give a time frame for something like this however it is being looked into. Would this be something where you want to archive both rrd data (bandwidth data) and your nfcapd data? I ask because the nfcapd files much of the time isn't along for a long time (your raw data lifetime). Also would something like Nagios Log servers archiving be what you are looking for?
