NRPE: Unable to read output

Hi,
We are using Nagios core version 4.4.4
On one of the Liunx servers, we are getting error NRPE: Unable to read output.
When we run the script on the client machine, it is giving correct result.
I tried the following on remote machine as nagios user and we are getting correct output.
check_nrpe -H localhost -n -c check_log_file -a /var/log/messages 'nfs: server'
I don't see any permisson issue also.
However when we tried from Nagios server, we are getting NRPE: Unable to read output.
What could be the reason.
