Challenges Migrating NagiosXI to Debian 12

We are currently running NagiosXI version 2024R1.1.5 on a Debian 10 VM. When attempting to update to the latest version via the web portal, we encountered an error stating that our OS version is not supported.

Following the recommended procedures, we prepared a manual backup with the intention of migrating to a new server running Debian 12. Unfortunately, when we tried to install the same version of NagiosXI on Debian 12, the installation failed with the same error message stating that Debian 12 is not currently supported. :!:

Could anyone advise on how we can successfully migrate from our current version 2024R1.1.5 NagiosXI to Debian 12? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @PauloPaulo,

The path is likely to go to Debian 11 to get to latest XI (or at least XI 2024R1.3, where we added Debian 12 support) and then move to Debian 12. It's an extra step and extra work no question, but it is a path.

Aaron, thank you very much for the info. Indeed this step requires an extra effort but I guess this what you get when you still using an old OS.
