Dashboard Issues

I upgraded to 2024R1.4.1 and now my dashboards are all screwed up. multiple dashboards have had dashlets automatically shrunk and can't easily be resized to make them readable (or useful).
  • The forced ratio auto hides the title below a certain size
  • I can't resize dashlets to the same size, they auto size larger or smaller than other dashlets
  • Aligning dashlets is impossible with the forced ratio because of the different sizing
  • Moving dashlets snap to different positions on the dashboard typically lower than a dashlet to the left unless it is super far away
  • Dashlets that produce really long lists cannot be resized to be readable, the window stops scrolling shortly after the mouse passes the window limit effectively limiting the resize effort
These items are a wish list for improving the dashboard
  • Editing a dashlet to change title and the resource it represents
  • Copy and paste of existing dashlets on a dashboard to facilitate rapid creation with multiple dashlets
  • There is no way to align or group dashlets

Hi Kevin,

Thank you very much for your feedback!

I've passed this on to the dashlets team and we hope to have this addressed soon.

Thank you.

I did find that when adding a new dashlet it shrinks a little in size when you move it but if you leave the page and return it is the expected size.

I can corroborate that upgrade to 2024R1.4.1 has totally hosed my dashboards. :x Thank God I tried it out on DEV first. PITA to have to rebuild my DEV box and restore from backup, but better than having my PROD box hosed.

In my home dashboard only Host Status Summary and Service Status summary are somewhat readable, tho they did reduce in size. All other dashlets are shrunk down to 1/2 postage stamp size. So small cannot access dashlet controls to bring them back up to size.

Another dashboard, when I open it, red message at top " Error: Access denied due to cross-origin policy or content security policy." I'm an admin, of course so what gives?. And all of that dashboard's dashlets are scaled to huge and moved around. Or are they just so huge that they just look like they moved? IDK.

Yeah, not upgrading PROD 'til this is fixed. Apologies to Forrest Gump. Nagios is like a box of chocolates . . .

Like you I upgraded my test instance first. Unlike you I didn't check the dashboards we've created. Lesson learned!
Next upgrade I'll go through everything before applying it to the production server.

So Nagios, what does "Error: Access denied due to cross-origin policy or content security policy." mean, and more importantly how to resolve? I've searched the web and get no hits.

I suspect your error message has to do with this:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cross-ori ... ce_sharing

Don't really see how that could apply. Dashboard is not pulling resources from a server on a domain different than the domain that served the web page e.g. my nagios "website".

I have the same problem as well after the upgrade. When will the fix be available? Unfortunately, I upgraded from 5.x and don't want to go back to that version.

Hello Nagios, it's been over a week since this issue was reported and ack'd. Do you have an update? Thanks.
