Hi Team,
We are Migrating our Production Nagios Server that running on RHEL7 Nagios XI 2024R1.1.2 to RHEL9 ( New System ) Nagios XI 2024R1.3.3.
I have read as per https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... I-2024.pdf , both versions has to match to migrate configuration and data ?
[ The version of the fresh install of Nagios XI that you are restoring to needs to match the verison of
Nagios XI that the backup was taken from. For example:
• Backup was created on Nagios XI 2024R1.1.2
• The server you are restoring to must have Nagios XI 2024R1.1.2 installed on it ]
What options do i have to migrate the configuration and data :
Option 1 : We have secondary Server which is RHEL 7 2024R1.1.2 XI Installed with nothing inside it . But if i export/import data it will start polling all the monitors ( thousands of them and alerting causing the Spikes ) ,
what prosses i need to stop in order stop this load ( running all the monitors on secondary node and alerting ) ?
Option 2 : What kind of problems we might face if we export/import config backup onto Nagios XI 2024R1.3.3 ? any workarounds ?
