Hi,

I have a question regarding the Nagios XI availability reports. How is it possible to have service uptimes higher than host uptimes? What I'm seeing just doesn't make sense to me. Can anyone explain why this happens?

Hi,

Service status checks and host status checks run independently from each other. This means that there can be cases where a host check will return as Down, while a service under that host may return as OK, depending on which host and service checks are being used. This case would explain the results you are seeing in the report.

You could also consider changing the host alive check, in cases where the one you're using isn't reliable:
