Email address not allowed as username anymore since upgrade to 1.3

Hello,

I've noticed that in NagiosXI 2026 1.3 it's not possible anymore to change the username to an email address anymore, which we always did for AD users.
Error:
Usernames can only contain letters, numbers, dots, underscores, and hyphens.
Must enter valid username, display name, and email for each user.

I can change the username afterwards but then I get a warning that this is not recommended

Kind regards,
Peter

Good Morning @PeterDK2,

We pushed a fix for this release that attempted to fix some issues people were having with username that had special characters, and this looks like it was caught in the fix. However we don't see a reason this should not be possible. I will get working on a fix that should allow this for our next release.

In the meantime, it seems like you were able to find a workaround, and renaming it after importing does seems to allow changing it to an email address. But I also understand that this is inconvenient and a bit annoying.

Thank you for the report! We will get this fixed asap.

Sincerely,
Ben Rowan
