Right now, Veeam, a enterprise product, supports Rocky Linux 9.

Citrix, another enterprise product, supports Rocky Linux 9.

Yet, in the table, it is not officially supported.

Hi All,

Straight up we might not ever officially support Rocky 9. It has been a matter of much discussion internally.

Every distro we support adds significant overhead to development, QA, and support. People love Alma Linux, too. Where is the right place to draw the line? There's not an answer that everyone likes equally. If there were no cost to it, I would happily support every distro out there.

Still, I'm not a fan of saying "no, never". However, Rocky Linux support is not on the roadmap at this time.

Aaron, thanks for this honest answer. I acknowledge the truth of your statement -- that adding distros adds support requirements -- and I'm curious what the actual blockers are for supporting Rocky 9, which states on its project website https://rockylinux.org/ that Rocky is "designed to be 100% bug-for-bug compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux."

As an organization, we are reasonably well informed on the many aspects of the issue. Your support for our support of Rocky Linux is noted, thank you.
