Hi All,

We need to monitor our existing Solaris 9 production Oracle DB servers using NRPE. But unable to find a supported agent download at Nagios-XI library.

Do we have any supported NRPE agents available for Solaris 9 ? . IF yes, kindly share the details.

The below site provides an agent download for Solaris 9, but not sure whether it's supported and safe to use in a production environment.

https://www.monitoringexchange.org/inve ... PE-Solaris

Thanks in advance for your support !.

Regards,
Bijay.

I am going to ask our Solaris developer to take a look at this for you.

Have you taken a look at this one: ?

http://labs.nagios.com/2012/05/25/nagio ... s-and-aix/

The post says it has been tested on 10, but doesn't say specifically that it won't work on 9 :)

I'm not too familiar with Solaris, so am notsure, but figured I'd point this out in case it might be useful to you.

Yes, that is our agent for Solaris 10, you can try it but we only actively support issues in regards to running the Solaris 10 agent, on a Solaris 10 machine. Still waiting to hear back from our Solaris Dev, he will be out of the office until Friday.

Solaris 9 is not officially supported with the NRPE agent. It might install if you modify the script that checks for the version of the operating system, but there are no guarantees. If you want to monitor a Solaris 9 system, I'm fairly certain you could compile the NRPE source and the plugins that compile on Solaris 10 on Solaris 9. There are several plugins that do not compile and/or for which there are script (bash, perl) alternatives in the NRPE agent tarball. You are welcome to use those.
