nagios make deleted objects unconfigured objects

Hey folks!

I have noticed that every once in a while when I delete objects from Nagios, Nagios appears to delete them but then they show up in admin/unconfigured objects. I then delete them and there seems to be no problem after that.
Any ideas as to why this happens. I am more concerned with this being a random event, and what impact does this have on our environment.
BTW we dont use passive checks in our environment.

It would be possible that Nagios was in the process of performing the check when it was deleted.

The process that places items in unconfigured objects just scans the logs for "but the service could not be found" or ""but the host could not be found".

If you searched your Reports -> Event Log for those strings you would likely see them.

I think I see. you mean that If the device is being deleted as nagios is checking it, then it will add them to that section?
\I am trying to piece together a best practices document that will show us how to avoid this.
Perhaps that is the better question: How to I make sure this does not happen? That is what do i have to do to avoid this in the future?

Once you have answered that you can lock this post sir.

This should be a rare case, unless you are doing a ton of deleting.
