One of our services didnt alert when there was an issue. This service was created by the VMWare Wizard.
It uses the xiwizard_generic_service template. IF I look for this template under templates I cannot find it to verify notification settings and the service itself has no notification timeframes set?
We use alot of service type templates for our host/service alerting.

You cannot find the xiwizard_generic_service? Ti should be there unless someone deleted it.
In any event, if the timeframe is blank Nagios assumes 24x7
Was the service in a HARD state (view via State History Report)?
Was the host down? Services do not notify if their host is down.

Yeah I found it..just too early I guess..it was an I/O issue and Exchange server was up. I am slowly re-adding the missing notification periods via the Bulk tool.

Though here is my question now....why are the Hosts NOT listed under the xiwizard_exchange_service templates "Manage Hosts"
These were added via the wizard shouldn't they be listed there?

This is normal. Hosts won't be listed there, but the template that is used is defined in the service definition (use ... line).
