Changing Alert/Check Setttings for Several Hosts/Services

What is the easiest way to set check and alert settings for hosts and services? I have tried applying host/service templates but it doesn't seem to work in the same way as Nagios Core. Can anyone point me in the direction of some documentation?

If you need to change the settings you should make the changes in Configure -> CCM -> Hosts/Services then apply configuration to have the settings take affect.

I need to make changes for a large number of hosts I want to avoid having to hand modify each Host/Service.

For this we have added the Bulk Modification Tool in the Enterprise version of XI
Configure -> CCM -> Tools -> Bulk Modification Tool
