Greetings all,
I'm looking for monitoring a walk-in fridge for Labs/Medical establishment. What are the most common sensors for that? any known devices that works without a lot of hassle with Nagios? I searched this forum and found one post where the guy is saying he used Websensor EM08 and it worked nicely. It seems that Websensor comes with a Nagios plugin already, So that is nice. Also on Nagios exchange there is a page for Websensor EM01b.
Any suggestion or comment is appreciated.
Thanks

I would agree, the Websensor line of products seem to be the most commonly used temperature sensors that we support, and the wizard only makes it easier! The wizard actually supports both the EM01b and EM08, so it is entirely your choice as to what will work best for you. Just a couple links in case you didn't see them:

Thanks. very appreciated.
For some reason my reply was not shown? Anyway,
what about wireless monitoring devices? We also have a few freezers that we would like to monitor as well. some range between -25C to -30C and some go down to -80C. so most likely I will be monitoring those with a wireless monitoring sensor that sends data to a base station, and connect that base station to nagios. Any know wireless devices that has a nagios plugin? also whats my option if there aren't any plugins for them. Will I have to do it by parsing the SNMP traps sent from those devices? realistically, how difficult is working with SNMP?
Thanks again. And if anyone feels like sharing their experience please do

SNMP can be difficult at times but in the grand scheme of things it is quite useful. You just need to be sure to install the MIB's for your devices into Nagios. I do not know of any plugins off hand however our exchange site is quite extensive I do know that Websensor EM08 is a popular device for monitoring climate changes:
