Is it possible to upgrade the pnp4nagios to latest release in NagiosXI. Looks Xi is behind and there are quite few improvements and good features we could use.
Thanks
Ashish

Hey Mitchell,
I am going to pass this thread on to a dev he may have more insight into this than I.

Xi actually uses a modified version of both PNP 0.4/0.6. The NPCD daemon and perfdata processing script are almost up to date to the latest version, while the front-end installed with XI is still 0.4. We haven't currently documented or tested the upgrade to the latest version, so at the moment we don't support it. Just out of curiosity, which features in particular were you interested in?

Hey Mike,
Thanks for the information. I was interested in seeing the new frontend and popup graphs (using Jquery); which could be used with customized central sites.
Another feature would be the use of mod_gearman to process all graph data outside nagios on a centralized server.
Regards
Ashish

Gearman is indeed quite powerful, we have had some recent talks about uses for it other than just check splitting. I'll make a note of your suggestion on graph parsing as well.

Thank you. Would you like me to add it to tracker site?
Thanks
Ashish

It would be a good idea to add it to tracker.nagios.com as a feature request for Nagios XI. There, everyone can see it.
