What does this mean?
Error in DataStore usage for VMHost service:"ESX3 Critical-Illegal Division by zero at /usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_esx3.pl line 1065.
Line 1065 states the following message. "my $value2 = simplify_number(convert_number($store->info->freeSpace) / convert_number($store->summary->capacity) * 100);"
The service was working fine for the last 3months but yesterday, it is now giving this error
another question about the monitored Virtual Machine.
Error message for VMWare Host Current CPU Usage and VMWare Host Current Memory Usage services: "Return Code of 255 is out of bounds".
Thanks.

Have you made any changes to the esx server, specifically DataStore, mount points, or disk related?

glenl,
We had a similar post and it turned out a datastore had been disconnected. However, even so, the error should be caught before giving a division by zero message.
He was using on older verision of check_esx3 which may have been corrected in newer versions.
Can you check what version your using.
Code: Select all
cat /usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_esx3.pl | grep "VERSION"
$VERSION = '0.5.0';

-Yancy

Are you sure the datastore you are trying to get information on exists and is typed exactly correct?
Can you show the plugin command for this service?

In your more recent thread you say that all your hosts are working fine except the two listed there, is this issue here resolved?
