Dashboard - Dynamically Change with Multi-Tenancy Updates

I have setup a custom dashboard to deploy to all of our clients. When I deploy it out, the clients only see a subset of the total hosts/services being monitored. When they open the dashboard, there is a whole lot of white-space on the screen. Is there any way for the dashboard to dynamically change itself to get rid of the gaps?

Also, if I add any more hosts/services after i reconfigure the dashboard, the boxes start to overlap. Is there a way to fix this?

What version of XI are you using? It looks like the trial, if it is not the current 2012 1.4 version it is possible you are seeing a bug which changed the recording of dashboards position from relative to absolute. If not it is possible they will jumble together like that if the user's screen is at a smaller resolution than the original one which recorded the dashboards.

I am running Nagios XI 2012R1.4 in a trial mode. I'm looking to replace our SolarWinds NMS so i'm building up a configuration to mimic that look and feel for our clients who use the portal.

You might want to position the dashlets that have a static size to left while those that are dynamic to the right. If you find a good way describe the features you desire, you may want to open a feature request at tracker.nagios.com

I've messed around with the dashlets but they don't dynamically move up/down with the changing data. That's what i'm looking for.

If you have not done so already, do open that feature request as this is not the first time I have seen someone looking for this feature.

I just put reported an issue on the tracker site. hopefully this can be done. it's a deal breaker for switching from SolarWinds with 1000+ hosts

Thanks.

The Dashboards by design are absolutely positioned giving the flexibility to position each dashlet exactly where the user would like it.

but when the dashlet data grows downward, it overlaps any other dashlets below it. I would then have to unlock it, move it and lock it again. but then the data will change again. i want the areas to move with the change of data.

I totally understand. Now that you have it on the tracker the developers can take a look and maybe present an option to somehow float the div's

thanks again for adding it to the tracker
