Hi,

These kind of error's are there in the log file.

Error: Notification period '' specified for service 'Dead Mail' on host 'server001' is not defined anywhere!
Error: Notification period '' specified for service 'Lotus Notes Port' on host 'server001' is not defined anywhere!
Error: Notification period '' specified for service 'Waiting Mail' on host 'server001' is not defined anywhere!
Error: Notification period '' specified for service 'check_antivirus_service' on host 'server001' is not defined anywhere!

This is just a part of error, we are getting this for many of the servers.

Also we are not able to do apply configuration while changing any of the parameters.

The only errors you are receiving are specific to not having notification settings set for the hosts and services that are erroring. This is a mandatory setting with Nagios, if you wish to not receive notifications, disable them as well but you must have something set there.
