check_smtp wrong results on Expiring Cert Dates?

Hello,
i just want to use check_smtp with the ARGS -S -D 10.
This should do an starttls and look if the certificate is valid more then 10 days.
When using check_smtp with the above Args, i get totally wrong Results.
My certs is valid 2012 at example, but check_smtp says its valid till 2011.
any ideas? i tried it on several mail server, i get everywhere wrong results.
any help would be nice
