Can you provide us with an example of what type of server you are monitoring and what you would like to receive graphs for?

Thanks for you swift reply Slansing. It's application server and we are monitoring JVM memory heap usage.

My does not understand the way nagios report it. He said i should try and explain more to him through graph.. we want to be seeing what memory we have used and memory we have left.

Hope you do understand me now.

I await your response.

Regards,

First of all, do you have graphing setup in core? (either through nagiosgraph or pnp4nagios)
Second, is there performance data reported by the jvm heap check?
What plugin are you using to check the jvm heap?

Hi Abrist,

No i dont have graphing setup in the core, but there is a folder here called pnp4nagios and it is empty.
Yes there is data performance report by jvm heap memory.
We are using check_jmx plugin.

Hope to hear from you soon.

My suggestion would be to setup pnp4nagios for performance data graphing: http://docs.pnp4nagios.org/pnp-0.6/start

There are a few speed bumps in the install process, but for the most part it is fairly straight forward. Read the documentation and take your time. We are always here to help.
