Hello

I have a nagios core which monitors 41 host. This weekend, we had a problem of network(for 24h), which has caused many up and down . The problem is when the networks is stabilized, I received 1400 notification email (up / down)

How can i prevent this ?

If you set up effective parent-child relationships, then servers will be marked as "unreachable" instead of "down" when a networking device fails between the nagios server and the checked hosts. "Unreachable" will suppress the standard service and host notifications and alerts while they are in that state. You may want to disable "unreachable" notifications so you are not mass alerted when a whole network segment moves to the "unreachable" state. You could also loosen the "flapping" levels to detect and suppress "flapping" more quickly. Or you can move the children of the problem network device into downtime until the issues are resolved.
