Unable to receive alert notifications

Hi - Newbie here
I added sendmail settings and tested with one email address which works perfectly. I have one user nagiosadmin and it has an email id. All alert notifications are currently being sent to this email id/user.
I wanted domain specific personnel should get alert notifications so I created 1 contact say ABC and added him to a contactgroup say Linux_Admin. In manage contact templates I selected generic-contact. Under Alert settings, I selected host/service notification enabled, timeperiods 24x7, all options, all notification commands etc.
But still the notification goes to the email address of nagiosadmin only and not to the Contacts. Any suggestions?
