Hello,

I just tried to install Fusion on a clean Red Hat 6.4 system. When I run ./fullinstall in /tmp/nagiosfusion I get the following error:

ERROR: unable to read system id. Your Red Hat installation is not registered or does not have proper entitlements.

It is registered. What proper entitlements could it be talking about?
Below is a copy of the log file:

How did you register your RHEL server? If you run the following you should get your account information in return:

Code: Select all

less /etc/sysconfig/rhn/systemid
Also, the following should output 0:

Code: Select all

# rhn_check -v
# echo $?

The first command less /etc/sysconfig/rhn/systemid fails. There is no file systemid in /etc/sysconfig/rhn

The 2nd command rhn_check -v returns:

ERROR: unable to read system id.

The subscription manager shows Red hat Enterprise Linux Server, Self-support (1-2 sockets) as a valid subscription.

Apologies I had you run a couple commands that are not valid for 6.4 any longer. Can you run the following and show the output?:

Code: Select all

subscription-manager list

Code: Select all

yum repolist all

With RHEL 6.2+ the channel checks were changed, this has been pached into Nagios XI but not Fusion, however in a soon to come patch the changes will be pushed through, for the time being you will need to edit one of the install scripts by hand, and it should be realatively easy to do. What we need to do is comment out the channel checks, so.. once you have extracted the latest installation tarball, you need to open the following file and make these changes:

Code: Select all

vi 0-yum
Comment out lines 22-32, it should be a "if, elsif" series that runs the old RHEL channel checks.

Then save the file, and run the installation script again.

This should get you up and running properly, you will need to make sure that you do have the RHEL optional channel as commenting out these lines removes that check.
