Can nagios be used to monitor embedded devices?

Hello!
I have a question here: Can nagios be used to monitor embedded devices such as the arm.if it could ,should i must migrate the NRPE? if you know the answers,please tell,i have spent lots of time on it ,thank you!!

I am sorry for my express.i am not good at this.
I want to use nagios to monitor a platform of arm,its type is dm355,but i cann't get the nrpe installed ,so during the past days ,i keep on working the cross compiling of the nrpe ,but i didn't workd out .so i want to ask:can nagios be used to monitor my device ,if it could ,whether it has some easy method or plugin.
if you still don't understand my express ,please tell .I truely need your help ,thank you!!

This is going to be somewhat hit or miss. There is a ARM build for Arch Linux here

I am sorry,i have checked the url, but i still don't understand, does it say that the nrpe itself can be used for the arm directly ,because i found that the nrpe he gived just is the normal type.
I truely don't know how to do it ,please help me ,thank you!

On the right side is a link to the Arch ARM build under "Package Actions"

i see it,but if my arm device doesn't install arch, i can't use it ,right?does it mean that i must change the kernel of my arm?does it also have another easy way?

My arm device is TI Davinci dm355,the kernel is 'linux 2.6.32',thank you for your help!

I would recommend compiling NRPE from source. You will need openssl and openssl devel packages. Give it a try, and let us know of any issues you ran into. We will try to help you out. Here's the official NRPE documentation:
