Changing the default values on config wizards

Hi,

I see that currently the default values for chk interval, re-chk interval, notification interval are set 5mins, 1min and 60 mins repectivly, How can we change these default values? I want ones of these values to be changes permanently to be reflected on all the config wizards, for ex: 10mins chk-interval for all the hosts and services while configuring, and dont want to change these values manually evrytime. I did try to chnage these values in the host, service templates but that doesnt make any difference, Please suggest how we can acheive this.

This has been requested in the past and is on our internal roadmap for the future. For the time being the best I can suggest would be to make the changes during the run of the wizard, or in the bulk modifications tool after the items have been added.

I'd like to add a second voice to this feature request.

Not allowing the defaults to be changed introduces another missed chance for uniformity for any XI customers who want something different. Sure, we can add yet another step to our internal documented procedure to change the defaults when adding a host or service to XI, but we all know that everyone does not read/follow documented procedures all the time. The bulk modifications tool will work, if we know that we need to change something, and specifically what to change, but that may not always be the case either.

You mentioned that this feature is on an internal roadmap. Can you give us an idea of when we can expect to see it in a production version of Nagios XI?

Most probably this functionality will be added to Nagios XI 2013 release, however this depends on the priority of the other projects we are working on, and the length of our TODO list.
