Title:Email notifications generate error messages or do not get sent out
FAQ ID:F0019

When email notifications should be sent out, error messages appear in the log files and/or the console. These errors cause the notifications to fail.

Some typical error messages that may appear in the console include:

  • "mail: Null names are not allowed"
  • "You must specify direct recipients with -s, -c, or -b."

If you're seeing message similiar to the ones mentioned above, you've probably got an error in your notification command definitions.

See FAQ 18 for more information on solving this problem.
