Description:Notification emails from Nagios are being sent from root@localhost. How do I change things so emails are sent from an address of xxx@yyy.com?

Solution:

The default notification scripts included with Nagios use the "/bin/mail" command to send out email notifications. "/bin/mail" genereated messages use the current userid to create the From: header.

To change the From: header to something else, one method would be to configure Sendmail to use the Genericstable to rewrite the From: address
