Title:Host notifications dont get sent out often enough
FAQ ID:F0036

Description:

Host notifications may not get sent out often enough if the host doesn't have services associated with it that get checked at the same (or smaller) interval as the host's notification interval.

This is normal if, for instance, the host's notification interval is 1 hour, but the only service associated with the host gets checked every 2 hours. There are some exceptions that might cause host notifications to be sent out more frequently. However, the general rule is that you must have at least one service that gets checked as often as you want host notifications to be sent out.

Solution:

Make sure you have at least one service on the host that gets checked as often as the hosts's notification interval. That will guarantee that host notifications get sent out at the proper interval.
