Description:User would like to know what type of timestamp is used in various data files.

Solution:

Various data and log files contain timestamps to indicate when records were added, updated, etc. Some of these files include:

  • Main log file
  • Status file
  • Comment file
  • Downtime file
  • Retention file

All timestamps used in these files are in time_t format, which is obtained the system time() function. The value of the timestamp indicates the number of seconds elapsed since the UNIX epoch (00:00:00 GMT, January 1, 1970).
