Title:What does "(Not enough data to determine host status yet) " mean in the host status information?
FAQ ID:F0085

Description:

User would like to know what is meant when the status of a host is shown to be in a PENDING state with status information saying "(Not enough data to determine host status yet)".

Solution:

When Nagios first starts monitoring services associated with a new host, the host's state is set to PENDING. This means that Nagios does not yet know if the host is UP or DOWN, because it hasn't had a chance to check it out.

While in a PENDING status, a host's status information is set to "(Not enough data to determine host status yet)". Once Nagios checks the status of the host (or of at least one of the services associated with the host), the host's state and status information will be changed.
