I am not aware of a `check_ifoperstatnag_by_variable` script - if you use the `check_ifoperstatnag` script, do you get the expected output? Is this script available in your previous Nagios XI server, and if so would you be able to move it into the new server?

I'd like to collect preliminary diagnostic info as well if the above doesn't work. What OS are you using and what version of XI?

What happens when you go to your server's actual address? Type ip a into your terminal to find it, and visit that address in a web browser. Do you see your nagios log server instance?
