Re: Unable to resolve host address 'assets.nagios.com'
I believe I know what the issue is now; still investigating to be sure though, the VM that I am running Nagios through is not on the network. Therefore, the firewall is preventing access to remote devices/machines and/or websites. I think I will have to discuss with one of our network guys whether o...

Re: commands.cfg
Ok. Let me look into this further; I've been experimenting a lot lately with Nagios. I was just hoping there was a way through the console window to manipulate the Core Configuration Manager.

Re: Unable to resolve host address 'assets.nagios.com'
Well, I am operating Nagios through a Linux VM which is on my local machine. My local machine (windows box) has no difficulty downloading the file, so I don't necessarily think its a firewall issue. It is interesting to note that no matter if I ping the page from my local machine or the VM it times ...

Re: Unable to resolve host address 'assets.nagios.com'
Sorry that was a typo when creating the posting. LOL
The issue is still the same. "wget: unable to resolve host address 'assets.nagios.com'"

Re: commands.cfg
Thanks. That does clarify some things. However, do you know by chance what the web interface is using to update the commands.cfg file? If I knew that, I may be able update/manipulate it to get my desired results. I noticed that I can add commands through the web interface and they show up in command...

Unable to resolve host address 'assets.nagios.com'
Hello, I am trying to perform the steps outlined in this pdf, http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagiosxi/docs/Integrating_SNMP_Traps_With_XI.pdf. However, I run into an issue when performing step 2. "wget: unable to resolve host address 'assests.nagios.com'" Can anyone explain to me what ...

commands.cfg
Hello, I am trying to add commands to the commands.cfg, but without realizing it; probably because I did not read the comments at the top of the file, this file gets overwritten everytime the "Apply Configuration" button is clicked in the Nagios Web Interface. Which is not an issue as long...

Re: using check_nrpe to monitor devices on remote machine
Thanks! I was just reading up on this one. I downloaded it from the nagios.org site and now about to install it. I will post whether I was successful or not and if I have any more questions concerning it. Thanks again!

using check_nrpe to monitor devices on remote machine
Hello, I have Nagios XI installed on a virtual machine and I am monitoring processes via my web brower; internet explorer. The url for the web browser is the ip address + nagiosxi; e.g. http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/nagiosxi. I have figured out how to add and view in the 'Service Detail' window devices/ser...

Core Config Manager
Quick question, in the Core Config Manager what does; if anything, when creating a service you select a service template do exactly? I am having difficulty executing a command that I use in the Red Hat Linux Virtual Machine (VM); "./check_snmp -H localhost -C public -o .1.3.6.1.2.1.25.3.2.1.3.6...
