Hi,
Interested to know, can both Nagios Core and XI accomplish the same results when it comes to monitoring?
Like for example, can I add routers/switches and vmwares to both Core and XI, add parent/child relation, send notifications, etc.?
Thanks.

SNMP traps
Hi, When I configure switch, add it for monitoring on Nagios XI, by default, if notifications are enabled, I will receive notification about any change on the switch. The sole purpose of SNMP trap is to send notification like that passively. Since that function is default in Nagios XI, and Nagios wi...

Trunk port monitoring
Hi,
Is there a way for Nagios XI to detect trunk ports on a Cisco Catalyst switch?
Or user has to specifically know which one it is via port alias or description?
Thanks.

External URL
Hi,
Is there a documentation on how to setup External URL for Nagios XI server?
And also how to redirect Nagios XI IP Address to domain?
Thanks

Hi, Is there a way to send high priority email alert only for a specific critical state of the device? I only want to set high priority alerts for let's say, when switch is down, not when a port is down. In case of when port is down, not administratively down, by default, Nagios sets it to be in cri...

Re: Private SMTP server
UPDATE:
I used Sendmail option, instead of SMTP, and it works, even if it's received as spam, rule can be created for it.

Hi, I am trying to send test email via company's email which also has its own smtp server (no hostname, just the IP address). The email was created for the purpose of sending notifications, and it has no password. Now, I also tried to use different ports and protocols combinations, but none did work...

Hi, If Nagios XI is installed in one location (let's say vlan 1), is it possible somehow to access it remotely from vlan 2, or just from a different geographical location? Also, if Nagios is installed on a physical server, it can be accessed via browser (Windows PC) only if it's in the same network?...
