Hi,
Is there a way for Nagios XI to detect trunk ports on a Cisco Catalyst switch?
Or user has to specifically know which one it is via port alias or description?
Thanks.
Trunk port monitoring
Re: Trunk port monitoring
Hi Flender,
Generally Nagios XI will show you the interfaces with labels and it is up to the end-user to know which virtual or physical interface does what relative to their organization's topology. Nagios XI makes it easy to label and describe each interface, as you can edit not only the metric's name, but also add an alias and even add a note or two! Also take a look at the Bulk Renaming Tool located in Configure --> Core Configuration Manager. This feature will let you rename multiple hosts or services if you choose to organize your monitoring event after adding many devices.
Thanks and Best Regards,
Keith
