I'm gradually populating the setup with hosts and services. Everything appears to be in working order, with the exception of the "Problems" link on the main web page's left-hand side menu.

SQL logs are unlikely to be created automatically.
If the SQL logs are files, you must manually configure them.
Examine the configuration of the log forwarder you're using and add SQL logs to it.
