Re: Many service started flapping
I'm not sure if they were related.... Issue 1. Could not login using AD creds. resolution. found out that /etc/resolv.conf was missing and added it back. that fixed AD logins. Issue 2. As soon as the resolv.conf was added back, we got tons of alerts of services going up and down. console shows the f...

It started after I could not login using my AD credentials. found out that the resolve.conf was missing. after I replaced it, all the flapping started. this is happening on a lot of servers and servi...

Re: Nagios - gearman wprker ports
Thanks for the reply Spenser. I'm waiting to hear back from our network guys to verify what ports are open between those servers... I'll let you know what I find out.
Thanks,

Nagios - gearman wprker ports
Hello, This is probably a simple question but I can't find the answer in the documentation...I have a firewall between a gearman worker and a NagiosXI server. What ports need to be open for them to communicate? just 5666? and is that between just the worker and the nagios server or do I also need so...

Re: Database crash!
ok, after digging some more, found out that the logs in http/ filled up /var. I clear up some space and rebooted the nagios server. came up ok. Should I still run the repair_database.sh script. I was initially looking for it on the database server, it's actually on the XI server.

Re: Services alternate between Critical and OK
Yes, I'm using nrpe. There isn't anything blocking but it might be using a fair number of connections as it does interface with a bunch of external devices so it might be bumping up to a limit somewhere. I'll check and let you know. Thanks!

Re: Services alternate between Critical and OK
It comes back with Connection refused by host. I don't think it's a network issue, this server has to communicate with other servers and if it has any connectivity issues at all, it will show up in the app. I'm willing to entertain that thought though... What are your thoughts? It's also displaying ...

Services alternate between Critical and OK
Hello, I've just added a few servers configured identically all on the same subnet. They all report OK except for one. It's services alternate between OK and Connection refused by host, and not all the same services. Disk check goes critical, and memory is normal. Load goes Critical and disk goes gr...
