Re: event log monitor agent deployment
I searched the forum and found only outdated resources. I also tried a few solutions and they did not work. I added windows event log monitoring items in monitoring wizard and found "No check results for service yet..." for all 4 items. Is there any config to go from this launching point f...

Re: event log monitor agent deployment
Thank you for your reply. I know this might be a little over the limit but since I'm a Linux newbie I just want to try my luck: Is there anyway you guys can give me a sample setup for the event log monitor script? I went over the link in your previous post and I have no clue what it does since I'm s...

Re: event log monitor agent deployment
Thank you. So what is "NSCP-0.4.1.90-Win32.msi"?
Also, is this correct to my understanding that we need to install NSClient++ for both monitoring server items, as well as event log? If we only need this single client installation on servers then this is what we want.

event log monitor agent deployment
Hi we want to use Nagios to monitor event log on Windows servers. Can the Nagios agent do this alone or we need another client? If so how do I enable that feature?
If we do need another client, how do we mass push it through SCCM? Thank you.

Re: Nagios host/host group/contact/contact group design
What I meant was can a server, say domain controller, be either in Nan's server host group, since it belongs to me, while at the same time it belong to another host group "Windows 2008 server"? So basically we will have multiple hosts belong to multiple host groups all at the same time in ...

Re: Nagios host/host group/contact/contact group design
Can we assign a server multiple templates, for example "Nan's servers" and "all Windows 2008", that would require one server in multiple host groups?

Re: Nagios host/host group/contact/contact group design
Thank you for your replies. So can we assign a host group to a contact directly? Since if this is possible then we can then just keep adding new servers to one of the host groups that already attached to a contact, thus making newly added servers automatically assigned a contact.

Re: Nagios host/host group/contact/contact group design
1. organize hosts administered by a single admin into "his" host group, then assign that host group to "his" contact/contact group. You would create a user, then add the contact that was created with him to the hosts make sure his privileges allow him to only view what his contac...
