Re: Sporadic Timeouts on Windows
Update: I was finally able to restart the servers and the timeouts appear to have subsided, at least for now. Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

Re: Sporadic Timeouts on Windows
The three timing out are definitely used more than the fourth one not having any issue. I think you may be right in that it's not Nagios, or I think I'd be seeing it system wide. I would like to restart the servers to see if it clears anything up, but if nothing is changed, I'm guessing I'll run int...

Re: Sporadic Timeouts on Windows
Thanks lmiltchev. I didn't see a "level" option in the log section of the ini file, but I added it in. Unfortunately it didn't seem to change anything in regards to what is logging. As a side note, I'm running an older version of the nsclient++ executable(0.3.9.327). I would like to blame ...

Re: Sporadic Timeouts on Windows
Unfortunately not. I can see when the service returns to the "OK" state, but I don't see anything when it times out. Is there a way to see more verbose logs?

Re: Sporadic Timeouts on Windows
There are currently 7 checks every 3 minutes. I think your theory of checks "stacking up" is exactly what is happening, but I'm just not sure why it started happening suddenly. The system has been running fine for over a year, and then I started to get these socket timeouts and I'm not sur...

Sporadic Timeouts on Windows
Over the past week or so, I've noticed sporadic "Socket Timeout after 10 seconds" errors on three of my Windows servers. They all run the same kind of software, but there is a fourth server also running the software that hasn't shown any issues. I also have about 20 other Windows servers b...

Re: Nagios had socket timeouts for all machines this weekend
I'm running into the same issue, but only for a few of the servers running similar software. I will receive a Socket Timeout error followed by a recovery notification 1-3 minutes later, then repeat. My Nagios installation hasn't changed in over a year and those specific servers haven't changed in lo...

Re: Nagios-Nrpe-Server Won't Start
Slansing, Thank you so much for your help. I believe the "killall nrpe" command was what helped the most. For some reason the start/stop commands just didn't seem to work, but as soon as I ran the killall nrpe, followed by the start, everything seemed to pick up!! It's nice to finally be a...

Re: Nagios-Nrpe-Server Won't Start
Yancy, I've tried the stop command and get the following: start-stop-daemon: warning: failed to kill 22186: No such process Running the start command states the nagios-nrpe-server started, but it still shows as not running in the services The logs for nrpe show a "Network server bind failure (9...
