Nagios version 5.3.2 Redhat 7.0 My Nagios instance hung and drove the host load to over 2000. Rebooting the host resolved the issue but what caused the problem in the first place? The last service checks seem to have happened at 22:36, at 22:33 the message was written to the OS logs: Aug 10 22:33:00...

Re: Nagios login unreachable
there are no entries when I attempt to log in. As I dig deeper, the httpd service is not starting. I am starting to suspect that a teammate might have caused some internal issues when he was trying to fix some LDAP issues on the server over the weekend. He is on vacation and unreachable now. I'll di...

I was unable to stop the Nagios processes and eventually rebooted the machine. Now I still can't get into the Nagios UI,...

Re: service alerts every 5 minutes
Looks like somehow many different services were combined into one, so every time a service fired it ran dozens of different checks causing alerts for all of them. My new service replacing the old one has resolved the issue. Thanks for the help.

Re: service alerts every 5 minutes
just clicking on the disk to show the config might have pointed out the issue. It looks like the config was copied over from the old installation incorrectly. I have created a new service and will let you know if it works and specifics about my original problem.

service alerts every 5 minutes
Can someone help me find the cause of service alerts that repeat every 5 minutes? The services can be anything, load, disk, file handles, they all do it. I have changed settings to only send once an hour, I have set flap detection even trying a low flap threshold at 1 and high at 100 and everything ...
