Nagios login unreachable
Nagios login unreachable
This morning I discovered that I could not log in to my Nagios instance running on RHEL 7. I logged in to the OS and found a load over 2000. Nagios is the only app on this server. I was unable to stop the Nagios processes and eventually rebooted the machine. Now I still can't get into the Nagios UI, but it does seem to be monitoring and alerting on configured services. Any ideas why the UI is unreachable?
Re: Nagios login unreachable
What is the behavior when you try to log in? Do you see the attempt to hit your web server in /var/log/httpd/apache_access.log or are there errors in /var/log/httpd/apache_error.log?

Re: Nagios login unreachable
there are no entries when I attempt to log in. As I dig deeper, the httpd service is not starting. I am starting to suspect that a teammate might have caused some internal issues when he was trying to fix some LDAP issues on the server over the weekend. He is on vacation and unreachable now. I'll dig deeper and report back.

Re: Nagios login unreachable
I reinstalled the httpd, resolved some permissions issues and repaired the DB, now it is back working. this appears to have been caused by someone on my team. Thank you for your help.
