Hmm - let me take back something I said - performance logging is actually NOT working for hosts that already exist. Figured this out. I had to delete the socket file, and then restart the mysql daemon. This recreated the file, and all was good. Rebooting the server or restarting the daemon without first deleting this file did not work.
