Changed IP address, web server now broken

Post by coloradojay »

Hi - we recently moved our VMWare environment to a new datacenter. In the process, we had to change our IP address range. We utilized the command "system-config-network" on our NagiosXI instance to change the IP address. That seemed to work, however, now the Nagios web page isn't working. It appears that the system-config-network script is faulty, and doesn't properly update the MySQL configuration. The error logs we are seeing are attached. The File /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock does exist, however, its file size shows "0".

Figured this out. I had to delete the socket file, and then restart the mysql daemon. This recreated the file, and all was good. Rebooting the server or restarting the daemon without first deleting this file did not work.

Sorry we didn't get to you sooner; weekend posts will have a delay until Monday mornings. Glad to see it is working though.

I'll be closing this thread now, but feel free to open another if you need anything in the future!
