The solution to activate is to type in the server IP address for offline servers. What if this is an absolutely unacceptable option for us to provide you with our server IP's? What other alternative do we have to license our servers?

"command type" for imported commands
When importing commands using the CCM "Import Config Files" tool, we find that the "command type" of the commands ends up being "misc command" type. And thus cannot be picked from the "Check command" drop-down list in services. Is there a way to import command...

Oh and I just noticed one more difference
5. check_icmp returns "rtmax" and "rtmin" performance counters in the perfdata

check_ping vs check_icmp REDUX
So check_ping and check_icmp both send ICMP echos and collect ICMP echo replies. I notice three main differences between the two: 1. The output is similar, but not exactly the same. If you swap out check_ping with check_icmp, it will work, but you'll have to remove the old RRDs as the perfdata count...

Yeah I tried that, but static defs cannot be used in the CCM.
Ideally we want to set parents for service templates, then use them in service definitions, but this looks impossible with XI.
Service dependency objects are OK, but sort of fragile.

Where is the parent attributes for service objects?
It seems that we cannot set the "parent" attribute for service objects in Nagios XI. Why? It's a vaild attribute for service objects in core.
