Re: Unable to save Commands in Config Manager
rlacasse, There's a reasonable chance upgrading fixes the issue if you're not seeing it on a 5.9.3 machine. Often times, you can upgrade directly to the latest version of XI without issue. That said, we recommend doing incremental upgrades whenever possible. The smaller the increments the better, so...

Re: upgrade of NagiosXI
sneha.irali, As long as you're sure you have the correct packages and versions, and have registered your repository (proxy server) with yum, the upgrade should work as expected. That said, we can't guarantee that everything will work as you are venturing into unsupported territory. Here is some docu...

Re: Nagvis services hangs - no automatic refresh happening
MasaNagios, Let's dig into what may be happening here. If there is indeed a bug, I can add any relevant information to the ticket to give us a better shot at replication and resolution. A few preliminary questions: What version of Nagios XI are you running? What operating system are you running it o...

Re: Nagios plugin or comand for check on Checkpoint 16200 23500 Firewall
abar, To my knowledge, we don't currently have anything that will allow you do to an easy integration out of the box. One option is to look on the Nagios Exchange or develop your own plugin, following our plugin development guidelines . Doing a preliminary search on the Nagios Exchange yields someon...

Re: Nagios Core Server OS version upgrade.
dagrawal, While I've never attempted to upgrade an OS version on a Core server myself, I suspect your best bet is going to be to back up the Core config files somewhere, spin up a CentOS 9 machine, install Core on the new machine and drop your backed up config files in place for each instance. I'm n...

Re: Software Version
@AngeloMileto, Unless you want to check the package versions via SSH, I believe you're going to need to put a plugin and an executor (NCPA in this case) on each host you want to check. If you're going to write your own, here are the plugin development guidelines . I think that's a decent idea for an...

I came across this article on best practices for migrating Nagios XI as well, perhaps it will be of use.

@schadalawada,
Just to be sure we're on the same page, here is the backup and restore documentation. And for posterity's sake, here is the documentation for pre-2024 systems.
Could you explain some of the errors you are getting related to httpd?

Re: Operations center 'configure sound' persistence
@gwesterman is correct, the sound settings are saved but it's not intuitive when looking at the interface. As such, I have swapped the feature request to be an enhancement request instead; we can certainly improve the user experience.
