Nagios XI 5.8 - supported databases

Hi there We have a client running a licensed copy of XI 5.8 on RHEL 7.9. They would like to know if they can upgrade the MySQL database to a newer version to take advantage of some newer features that they believe will enhance performance. As their partner, we promised to find out for them - so my q...

Re: Mod-Gearman integration

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you - I've had other project work get in the way of debugging this issue! I have extracted the files you requested - please find them attached. The naming should make sense but any queries let me know. These have not been edited by hand at any point apart from ...

Re: Mod-Gearman integration

Hi there Thanks for this, and the KB update - it has helped make things much clearer. However I'm still not seeing the behaviour described. To confirm, I have: 1. Gone through both worker nodes and enabled servces and hosts in the module.conf file. 2. Restarted all mod_gearman workers 3. Rebooted th...

NagVis error

Hi there

We are trying to get NagVis working on a new XI server - however we see the error in the attached screenshot:

Any ideas on why this might occur, and how we could fix it?

Many thanks,

Robin

Re: 22k hosts, 134k services - 45 mins to apply config?

8 CPU cores and 16GB RAM at this time - though it's a VM so we can easily flex this is required. What is odd is that we're seeing no real swamping of CPU, RAM or I/O - on either the XI or the database server. It just seems like a PHP thread is locked up for about 45 minutes and the GUI is unresponsi...

Service check latency 5-10 seconds - reducing?

Hi there

We have a client running a large Nagios XI install (22,000 hosts, 134,000 service checks), and they are currently seeing a service check latency of around 5-10 seconds. Is there a way to reduce this with this level of hosts/service checks?

Many thanks,

Robin

22k hosts, 134k services - 45 mins to apply config?

Hi there We have a client running Nagios XI who have a large install - 22,000 hosts and 134,000 service definitions. When they make a change and apply config, the GUI becomes unresponsive for around 45 minutes. We have made a large number of performance tweaks including offloading the database to a ...

Re: Mod-Gearman integration

Hi there Thanks so much for your continued help - on this topic, I have read the KB article you pointed me at, but this just highlights the issue I am seeing. From the doucment: With a default configuration, when nagios starts it hands off the host and service checks to MG. MG creates two queues cal...

Re: Mod-Gearman integration

Hi there Thanks for this - is there a document or KB article that details this setup? I completed the Mod-gearman setup KB from Nagios and the way in which that is written implies (to me) that that was all that was required, but I believe from your reply that I've misunderstood. If there's a documen...
