No rrd files are generated in new services

Post by pucobre »

1.- Linux Distribution and version?: Centos 6.7
2.- 32 or 64bit?: x86_64
3.- VMware Image or Manual Install of XI?: Manual over VmWare
4.- Are there special configurations on your system, ie; is Gnome installed? Are you using a proxy? Are you using SSL?: No

Hi

for some reason the new services are added through the wizard "Network Switch / Router" are not generating the RRD files, we reviewed the errors logged in the forum but did not manage to solve the problem.

Looks like you are hitting the perfdata timeout and NPCD load threshold, did you follow this FAQ entry?

How long did you wait before checking for the RRDs after you ran the wizard? It takes some time before the RRDs and XMLs get generated...

Run the following commands, and show the output.

Code: Select all

ls -lad /usr/local/nagios/share/perfdata/<hostname>
ls -la /usr/local/nagios/share/perfdata/<hostname>
Substitute <hostname> with the actual hostname.

Hi good day.

We have waited several hours.

I edited the timeout perfdata then remove all host registration and services in the Nagios server, today I re-created using the wizard and have spent several minutes without the graphics are generated

[NagiosServer /]$ sudo ls -lad /usr/local/nagios/share/perfdata/PUC-SW-07-01/
drwxrwxr-x 2 nagios nagios 4096 May 12 09:14 /usr/local/nagios/share/perfdata/PUC-SW-07-01/

[NagiosServer /]$ sudo ls -la /usr/local/nagios/share/perfdata/PUC-SW-07-01/
total 3024
drwxrwxr-x 2 nagios nagios 4096 May 12 09:37 .

Do you see the "PUC-SW-07-01" rrd file in the "/var/lib/mrtg" directory, and what is its permissions?

Can you also run the following commands, and show the output:

Code: Select all

time LANG=C LC_ALL=C /usr/bin/mrtg /etc/mrtg/mrtg.cfg
tail -50 /usr/local/nagios/var/npcd.log

No archive "rrd" related to the host or its services in the /var/lib/mrtg

[NagiosServer /]$ sudo time LANG=C LC_ALL=C /usr/bin/mrtg /etc/mrtg/mrtg.cfg
time: cannot run LANG=C: No such file or directory
0.00user 0.00system 0:00.00elapsed ?%CPU (0avgtext+0avgdata 256maxresident)k
0inputs+0outputs (0major+54minor)pagefaults 0swaps

[NagiosServer /]$ tail -50 /usr/local/nagios/var/npcd.log -> attached the result

Thanks

Can you run the command as root?

Code: Select all

su
time LANG=C LC_ALL=C /usr/bin/mrtg /etc/mrtg/mrtg.cfg
to time the check. If it fails, try:

Code: Select all

LANG=C LC_ALL=C /usr/bin/mrtg /etc/mrtg/mrtg.cfg
Also, show the output of the following commands:

Code: Select all

locale
cat /etc/sysconfig/i18n
