Read only account

Post by btemple »

Is it possible in fusion to create a truly read-only account. Meaning I can create an account, create all my views and links. Then make the account totally read-only ? We need to deploy a page where help-desk can view stuff but not change anything. I understand the concept of syncing dashboards but I would like the views to be even more locked down.

A regular (non-admin) user in Nagios Fusion won't be able to make any configuration changes, and won't be able to "drill down" to the fused Nagios XI or Core servers, unless he/she has been provided with log in credentials. It's not a "truly read-only account" but keep in mind that in Nagios Fusion, as in Nagios XI, any users can modify their views, add dashlets, etc. What exactly don't you want the "read-only" users be able to do?

We would like to be able to remove the options on the left hand side for example.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

This functionality is not available in Fusion.
You are welcome to post a feature request or I can post one for you if you want me to.

I am not sure if there is going to be much interest in this functionality. "Read-only" users shouldn't be able to modify anything but they should be able to see stuff... What you are requesting is basically a read-only user, who can see ONLY the "Home Page" (which will have nothing but the "Getting Started Guide" unless set up) and the list of the fused servers...
